Your Healing Journey – Step by Step

Step 1: Preparation & Intention

You’ll be advised to eat light, hydrate, and make your niyyah (intention) before your session.

Step 2: Body Assessment & Point Mapping

Your practitioner will assess your condition and mark sunnah or clinical points for cupping.

Step 3: Cupping Begins – Suction & Incision

Sterile cups are applied with suction, followed by light skin incisions to release stagnation.

Step 4: Duʿā and Relaxation

Qur’anic verses and duʿā are recited. You rest as your body releases toxins and your soul renews.

Step 5: Post-Session Advice

You’ll receive sunnah-based aftercare tips — what to eat, what to avoid, and how to recover.

What is Hijama, and is it part of Islam?

“Indeed, the best of remedies you have is cupping…” (Bukhari 5696).
Hijama was practiced regularly by the Prophet ﷺ for detoxification, pain relief, and energy balance, and is part of the broader Prophetic medicine (ṭibb al-nabawī).

What health conditions can Hijama help with?

Hijama has been used to relieve symptoms of:

  • Chronic headaches and migraines
  • Back and joint pain
  • Insomnia and fatigue
  • Anxiety and low mood
  • High blood pressure
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Digestive disorders
It also helps in circulation, lymphatic drainage, and immune support. However, Hijama is complementary, not a replacement for clinical medical care.
Is Hijama painful?

Most clients report that Hijama is not painful — only mildly uncomfortable. The suction may feel tight, and the small incisions may sting briefly, but the overall experience is relieving, not painful. Many clients describe it as detoxifying and calming.

Is Hijama safe? Are there any risks?

Hijama is very safe when performed by a trained and certified practitioner using sterile, single-use equipment. However, there are contraindications, such as:

  • Severe anemia
  • Bleeding disorders
  • Pregnancy (certain points avoided)
  • Fasting in extreme weakness
Always inform your practitioner about medical conditions or medications before the session.
How often should I get Hijama?

This depends on your goals:

  • For maintenance/sunnah: once every 3–4 months, preferably on the Sunnah days (17th, 19th, 21st of the lunar month).
  • For chronic issues: weekly or biweekly sessions may be recommended for 3–6 sessions.
Your practitioner will assess and guide based on your needs.
Can women do Hijama?

Yes. Hijama is beneficial and permissible for women, including for hormonal balancing, menstrual issues, fatigue, and mental clarity.

  • During menstruation or pregnancy, certain points are avoided.
  • It is especially effective for post-partum detox when done at the right time.
What should I do before and after a Hijama session?

Before:

  • Eat light at least 2–3 hours before
  • Stay hydrated
  • Avoid caffeine and heavy food
  • Make niyyah (intention) for healing and Sunnah revival

After:

  • Rest and hydrate well
  • Avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours
  • Don’t shower for 24 hours
  • Eat wholesome food — preferably dates, honey, and warm broths

You may feel slightly fatigued — this is part of the body’s detox and reset process.
